About the role:Join our dynamic team at the Brien Holden Foundation, dedicated to making a positive impact on public health. We are currently seeking a motivated and public health-driven Optometrist to be a key player in our Australia program, based out of Dubbo. Responsibilities:• Deliver outreach optometry services to approximately 14 communities surrounding Dubbo.• Collaborate with Brien Holden Foundation Aboriginal Outreach Optometry Assistant based in Dubbo and ability to develop good working relationships with other primary health care practitioners.• Work closely with the Head of NSW programs to build community clinic partnerships.• Engage in general administration, reporting, and primary health care practitioner training, provide Indigenous workforce support and contribute to advocacy efforts.Requirements:Essential:• Qualified AHPRA registered Optometrist with a passion for public health• Ocular therapeutics endorsement• Willingness to travel daily to outreach communities• Ability to work from home when not in the clinic• Strong organisational and administrative skills• Commitment to community health and advocacy initiatives• Confident working with children and young people as we do lots of school clinics.• A current (or ability to get) Working with Children card, a National Police Check, Desirable:• Undergraduate or postgraduate training in areas relevant to Indigenous health, rural and remote health, public health, community development, or similar.
