About the Role
The Senior Lecturer in Rural and Remote Health will make a significant contribution and take on a leadership role in the delivery and teaching of the Doctor of Medicine topics and courses offered across the Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP). They will draw on their significant experience and senior roles in clinical practice to develop strong industry partnerships, which will allow for high-quality placement opportunities for students.
The Senior Lecturer in Rural and Remote Health will be responsible for the selection, supervision, teaching and assessment of Years 3 and 4 NTMP students on placement in Katherine’s primary care setting. They will also play a lead role in the design, planning and implementation of remote health experiences and remote medicine teaching and assessment across the four years of the NTMP, and provide academic development and mentoring of clinical supervisors. The Senior Lecturer will also have a key leadership role in service to the College and/or University.

About Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT
At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health.
Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community.
