Description

The Property Assessor/Estimator role is critical in ensuring accurate assessments, cost-effective repairs, and seamless customer experiences. You will be responsible for on-site assessments, damage evaluations, repair estimations, and client communication. This is a customer-facing role, requiring strong relationship-building skills with homeowners, insurers, and trade partners. The Property Assessor/Estimator is responsible for assessing property damage, preparing repair estimates, and ensuring compliance with building codes and insurance policies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Damage Assessment: Inspect properties, document damage, and ensure compliance.
  • Repair Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and minimize variations.
  • Client Communication: Engage with homeowners, insurers, and brokers clearly.
  • Claim Conversion: Drive approvals by explaining repair solutions effectively.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure regulatory adherence and identify potential risks.
  • KPIs: Optimize assessment turnaround, claim approvals, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Key Job Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in insurance assessments, construction estimating, or property inspections. 
  • Strong building & construction knowledge, with a focus on residential & insurance repairs. 
  • Experience with digital assessment tools & estimating platforms (e.g., Wilbur, Xactimate, or similar). 
  • Proficiency in Australian building codes, WHS standards, and insurance compliance. 
  • Customer-facing experience, with strong communication & negotiation skills.-2 years experience in customer service, call centres, or insurance claims handling.
