Outward Bound Australia is looking for DoE Supervisors to assist in the delivery of Adventurous Journeys around the country. The role is of casual nature, with most journeys scheduled during weekends and school holidays around major urban centers.
The Adventurous Journey Supervisor will be responsible for the delivery of safe and high-quality outdoor journeys. The Adventurous Journeys are hiking based, on established single track trails around the country. Explore and enjoy some of our most scenic locations such as the Great Ocean Walk, the Grampians Peak Trail, Royal National Park or the Great North Walk!
The participants on the journeys will be aged between 14-25 years old and will be enrolled in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme at different level - Bronze, Silver or Gold. Each journey will cater to one of the level at a time and be of varying lenght and difficulty to accommodate the progression of skills.
The Adventurous Journey Supervisor will be expected to maintain and display a high level of professionalism and proficiency in all skill sets required to uphold the safety and wellbeing of the participants.
Skills and Experience Desired
• Cert III in Outdoor Leadership or equivalent*
• Remote Area First Aid certificate and current CPR
• Current WWCC or WWVP
• Personal experience in a variety of outdoor environments and activities
• Experience working with young people
*equivalency is demonstrated through either oversea and/or superseded qualifications and/or currency in delivering outdoor activities through the submission of a logbook of led outdoor activities.
