ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a creative and skilled Graphic Designer – an artist, an innovator, a storyteller – who can translate the beauty of the gospel into compelling visual designs. The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing engaging graphics that inspire and communicate the message of Jesus across a range of digital and print media. The Graphic Designer will bring creative excellence to City on a Hill’s branding, campaigns, and communications, ensuring that every design effectively supports our mission of knowing Jesus and making Jesus known.
The Graphic Designer will be based in one of our church locations and will report to the Communications Director. This is a paid, part time position of 2 days per week.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating brand designs, such as social, print, and slide templates.
- Creating graphic designs for branded campaigns, such as EOFY, AGM, Church Health Survey etc…
- Creating graphics designs for UI and publications, such as Annual Reports, prospectuses, teaching series booklets, info graphs, website landing pages etc…
- Managing printing needs for brand designs, such as signage, flyers etc‚
- Managing print stock levels for bulk orders, such as baptism t-shirts, lanyards, name tags etc‚
- Be a valued participant in City on a Hill staff meetings and events.
KEY SKILL, COMPETENCY AND CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS
- A demonstrated love for Jesus and his people.
- Willingness to commit to the vision and mission of the church as a member of City on a Hill.
- Live a committed, prayerful, holy life of dependence on God in Christ.
- A ‘gospel confidence’ that boldly trusts in God’s saving power while seeking to innovate in order to mature existing people and reach new people through ministry.
- Competent in graphic design, including experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design.
- Generalist graphics designer with experience in print and digital, including UI, publications, illustrations etc.
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Able to communicate, manage time and self-direct to manage duties effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
- Able to maintain trust and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
All City on a Hill staff must hold a current Working with Child Check, complete a National Police History Check that returns no disclosed outcomes that would exclude them from the role, and uphold the standards outlined in the City on a Hill Code of Conduct.
