We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Operations Supervisor – Remote Energy Northern Territory position. This position will report to the Northern Territory Operations Manager and will be based out of Darwin in Northern Territory.
This position will be responsible to supervise the operations requirements of the Northern Territory sites and to maintain the safe and reliable operation of the Facilities. Provide technical support for all Northern Territory Power Stations as directed by the Northern Territory Operations Manager.
The roster is 4 days on 3 days off. This position will be required to Drive In Drive Out from Darwin to Pine Creek and Jabiru Power Stations and Fly In Fly Out to McArthur River Mine in Northern Territory.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Maintain a safe work environment with support and direction in the trend to Zero Harm.
- Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
- Provide technical (electrical or Mechanical) support to the Northern Territory (NT) EDL facilities and interface closely with Operations staff on installed equipment performance.
- Ensure all NT electrical personnel attain and maintain all necessary statutory training requirements
- Contribute to the further development of condition monitoring programmes into the Engineering Support group.
- Manage the results of condition monitoring programs for assigned facilities.
- Field investigation and root cause reporting of equipment failures on request by line Manager. Developing, implementing and stewarding action plans.
- Outage investigation, reporting developing action plans around recommendations.
- Liaise and work closely with Asset Management group, Engineering group and other company specific Technical Specialists.
- Development of additional alternative parts substitution by agreement with line Manager.
- Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced staff in the electrical or mechanical equipment area.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of maintenance programs with input to schedules and updates to the MMS administrator.
- Professionally interface with key vendors and contract customers on installed equipment performance as required.
- Meet tight deadlines and attain performance targets as set by the Manager.
- Be conversant with all site Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Utilise the Maintenance Management and Quality Assurance Systems as part of the daily functions
- Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors
- In addition to the duties set out above, the Electrical Supervisor may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company

Qualifications and Experience
- Power Generation experience: good understanding of power generation and must have gained a range of skills in Generator Controllers, Power Station Control Systems and HV switching
- NT Electrical Licence - preferable
- Familiar with reciprocating gas generation
- Familiar with Gas Turbine generation
- Experience with systems such as SCADA and CITECT are highly desirable
- Instrumentation Licence preferred but not essential
- Instrumentation and process control experience
- Steam turbine and boiler background – essential
- Previous leadership role – essential
- NT Drivers Licence
