What your days might look like

As the SDR Manager of the Expansion Team, Your role will include both strategic and operational responsibilities to build and execute the expansion strategy effectively across both teams.

Customer expansion is the strategy of increasing the lifetime value of existing customers through product adoption, increased loyalty, additional purchases, and more. Common customer expansion strategies include upsells, cross-sells, and add-ons. We are building a scalable, predictable, and sophisticated revenue expansion machine to accelerate our journey to Masterplan 3.0. You will leave no stone unturned, ensuring every avenue is explored, every value addition seized, and capitalising on every opportunity to enhance value.

You will adopt a pull strategy, focusing on value creation and solving customer problems at the right time. Your goal is to craft a engaging, immersive upsell journey that enhances the customer experience and adds value at every step.

As a SDR Manager in the Expansion Team , you’ll be:

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead and inspire two SDR teams—one inbound (focused on engaging warm leads) and one outbound (focused on cold calling into existing accounts)—to achieve and exceed targets, while ensuring alignment with the broader sales strategy.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to generate both warm and cold leads, ensuring strong lead qualification and conversion across both teams.
  • Ensure smooth workflows and effective collaboration between the inbound and outbound teams and AEs.

Team Coaching & Development:

  • Conduct regular coaching and training sessions for both teams to continuously improve the skills and performance of your SDRs.
  • Foster a high-performance culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous learning across both teams.
  • Provide guidance on managing customer relationships, maintaining professionalism, and maximising customer touchpoints in both inbound and outbound contexts.

Process Optimisation & Execution:

  • Continuously improve the SDR process for qualifying expansion leads, ensuring both inbound and outbound efforts are aligned and optimised for maximum success.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales Ops, MarOps) to ensure smooth integration of lead qualification, assignment, and follow-up processes.
  • Establish and track key metrics to measure team performance and optimise for higher conversion rates and more qualified SAOs.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Partner with the AEs to ensure SDR efforts align with broader team goals and customer expansion initiatives.
  • Communicate team successes, challenges, and strategic opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with marketing and product teams to ensure alignment on messaging, product updates, and expansion initiatives.

Performance Analytics & Reporting:

  • Implement robust reporting and performance tracking mechanisms to measure key success metrics.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and insights to continuously refine strategies and tactics.

Remote-First Leadership:

  • Lead a high-performing, remote-first team, ensuring consistent communication and collaboration regardless of team members’ physical locations.
  • Use remote-friendly tools and technologies to drive engagement, team connection, and performance.

What you will bring

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and managing SDR teams, preferably in a fast-paced B2B environment.
  • Experience managing both inbound and outbound sales teams, with a strong understanding of upsell, cross-sell, and adoption strategies.

Proven Track Record:

  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets, particularly in expansion or existing customer growth.
  • Strong understanding of top-of-funnel lead generation and qualification processes, both for warm leads and cold calling.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience coaching and motivating remote teams to achieve targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse performance metrics and use insights to inform strategy and decision-making.

Adaptability & Innovation:

  • Ability to innovate and adapt strategies to meet evolving market needs and challenges.
