Position Overview

This role involves leading workforce forecasting, planning, and scheduling, analysing workforce trends, and creating strategies to optimize staffing levels, skills, and deployment. 

The Senior Workforce Planner will work closely with department leaders and management to ensure workforce planning aligns with business objectives and budgets, ultimately enhancing organisational performance. Opportunity to lead and implement workforce planning initiatives across the virtual health service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement workforce planning strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Analyse workforce data, identify trends, and forecast staffing needs to optimise resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Clinical, HR, and finance to ensure alignment of workforce initiatives with business objectives.
  • Lead the creation of workforce forecasting models and scheduling frameworks for key teams.
  • Support recruitment planning by providing insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure effective deployment of staff to optimise talent utilization Virtual Health services
  • Monitor key workforce metrics, such as turnover rates and retention, to inform decisions.
  • Continuously improve workforce planning processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Skills, Qualification and Competencies:

  • Must be located with Australia.
  • 3+ years of experience in workforce planning, scheduling, or operations coordination.
  • Previous experience in call centre service provider environment - highly desireable. 
  • Proficient with workforce management software and scheduling tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues affecting the delivery and support of workforce planning and rostering activities in a complex operational environment.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of and capability in database management and report generation, complex spreadsheets and computerised resource planning and coordination programs.
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and trend/output/outcome performance data to drive performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated well-developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to contribute to strategic planning and the provision of policy advice, including the development and implementation of virtual health operational policies, standards and service improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
